The Drug Patch for the Drug Court

Home - Drug Courts - The Drug Patch for the Drug Court

What benefits are our drug court customers and their program participants seeing with the Drug Patch?

The Pharmchem Drug Patch, worn on the skin, continuously collects “insensible perspiration”. This sweat specimen will then contain traces of any drugs that have been ingested. Laboratory analysis completes the cycle.

This innovative technology allows drug courts to continuously monitor participants’ drug use over an extended period of time.

Drug Patch is not invasive, gender-sensitive, or embarrassing for the Participant.

Sample substitution, adulteration, and tampering are easily removed from the equation.  For this reason, it is typical for Drug Courts to use the Patch for any Phase 1 Adulterations or Dilutes.

It is also common that the patch is used in Phase 3 to better accommodate participant work schedules.  In Phase 3 the patch also confirms that the participants are ready to graduate as the patch reports the number of continuous Sober Days.

The patch is also a tool used for participant travel or rural participants.

Overall, the Pharmchem drug patch is a game-changer for drug court programs, helping the participants stay on track with their recovery and ultimately leading to better outcomes. It gives Judges and Case Managers a useful tool to utilize.

What About Participants?

Participants can conclusively prove abstinence from drug use whilst spending less time doing so.

Traditional urine drug testing may require two to three sample collections per week. Twice per week equals 8 times per month. Drug Patch requirements may be 2 to 5 times in comparison.

NADCP Research has shown that the Drug Patch has the same deterrent factor as five-time fortnightly urine testing.

National Association of Drug Court Professionals

Drug Patch Participants will demonstrate increased accountability and compliance with their drug treatment plans.

The Drug Patch is a visual reminder for participants to think twice before further drug use. With such close monitoring, there is no opportunity, therefore less temptation, to use drugs between urine tests.

We are proud to offer this cutting-edge technology to our clients and are excited to see the positive impact it continues to have on their lives. #PharmChek #DrugCourtSuccess #RecoveryJourney
